Yonah was afraid to go to Ninveh
He tried to hide from Hashem
Hashem sent a fish, a VERY big fish
to swallow Yonah in one big gulp!
Yonah praid hard and Hashem told the fish
to spit Yonah out on the land
And he went to Ninveh and he warned everyone
that the city would be destroyed
Then Yonah saw how Hashem SAVED Ninveh
because the people did Teshuvah
They promise to be good And Hashem forgave them
Just like he forgives every Jew!

The Mailman Visits Pericha!
The yiladim worked very hard on their Shana Tova cards ( I hope you have received them by now!)
While learning about the custom of wishing our friends and family Shana Tova, we did a mini postal unit. We learned what an address is and did a few activities to familiarize ourselves with our home addresses! We then learned how mail gets from one location to the next and set up a mini postal center which the yiladim thoroughly enjoyed! To wrap up our unit, we addressed our Shana Tova cards to our homes and the mailman came to pick them up and deliver them. We enjoyed seeing the mail car close up and the mailman took the time to answer the many questions we had! We will be keeping the mailbox in our classroom throughout the year, for the Yiladim to continue practicing their own and others' addresses!

Tashlich
We learned about the custom of going to a body of water that has fish ,
on Rosh Hashanah afternoon to say a special prayer and "throw away" our sins. We learned that just like fish don't have eyelids and therefore never close their eyes, Hashem never closes his eyes and is always watching over us!!
We enjoyed the Tashlich "hike" we took, where we pretended it was Rosh Hashanah afternoon and acted out the whole ritual!
We also enjoyed using our water table during freeplay to act out "Tashlich"!

I am a shofar I'm the horn of a ram, you can see me on Rosh Hashanah
When the Ba'al Hatokeah gets ready to blow you can hear the sound of:
Tekiah- Tooooooo

Teruah- Too Too Too Too Too Too Too Too Too
(T.T.T.O. One Little Two Little)
Where oh where does the Shofar come from? x3
