Simchat Torah

We went on a special tour of the ark and the Torah in honor of Simchat Torah ( the holiday where we finish reading the Torah and begin reading it anew) We learned about the different components of a Torah's dress and got to look at the Torah up close as well as dress the real Torah!
We felt really big dressing the real Torah like the adults do in shul!

We had great fun reliving that experience by undressing and dressing the pretend ( but quite realistic!) Torah in our classroom!

We learned that the Torah is filled with stories and Mitzvot and it is verrrryyyyy long. We read a section of it every week, and it takes a whole year to finish reading it! We tried to unroll the play Torah in our classroom, but it was too long to unroll completly!! We then rolled it back up to the beginnig ready to start anew!

This was a very important learning experience for the yiladim, being that the weekly parsha is something we generaly plan to learn weekly. Now the yiladim have a deeper more clear understanding of what the weekly parsha is and how it is a part of the Torah!
